The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) made several strategic changes to their team and leadership before Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2025, with the aim of defending their title and securing a fourth record championship championship

Veteran Batter Ajinka Rahane was named the new KKR captain, after the departure of former captain Shreyas Iyer to Punjab Kings, Rahane, 36, brings a wealth of experience and previously led to India to a memorable victory of the Australian test series during the 2020-21 season.
